Ruaha National Park is extremely interesting as it presents the transition zone where southern African and eastern African Species of flora and fauna overlap, therefore, it has unique variety of animals, birds and vegetation.
The park is one of the most remote and beautiful areas in Tanzania. Currently visitor numbers are low and your jeep will probably be the only car in the landscape.
Safari in Ruaha National Park
With its total size of about 20.000 square kilometers (7,809 sq mi), Ruaha National Park is the second-largest national park in Tanzania. The name of the park comes from the Great Ruaha River, which flows along its southeastern margin. The park can be reached by car on a dirt road from Iringa and by plane from Daressalaam as there are two airstrips.
We will pick you from the camp early in the morning. We will drive through the fantastic landscape which is a rare experience as Ruaha game park is one of the least visited. You will find a very serene nature and a very authentic safari experience here. Ruaha is enriched with diverse plants and among the animals you will spot is the lesser kudu and the rare great Kudu which is not found in any other park. Other animals that only occur here are the Ruaha Red Billed Hornbill and the Bat-eared Fox. Ruaha is believed to have the largest herds of elephants in Tanzania. Other noted animals found in this park are East African cheetahs and lions, African leopard and wild dog, spotted hyena, giraffes, hippopotamus, African buffalo, and sable antelopes. Since 2005, the protected area is an important lion conservation area. This is an untouched ecosystem making your safari a unique experience and you will be able to spot the Big Five here. Within the park are historical sites, cultural sites, natural springs and rivers flowing across the park that provide refreshment to land animals and a hunting ground for those in the water. All that makes Ruaha a true paradise for safari-lovers.
This large conservation area is currently comparable to the Serengeti National Park in size and is Tanzania’s second largest National Park. The Rungwa ecosystem contains six protected areas, most famously Ruaha National Park. It is situated in the center of Tanzania about 130km west of the town of Iringa. Ruaha National Park is accessible year-round either by light aircraft from Dar es Salaam or Zanzibar (1:30 hours), or by road through Iringa from Dar es Salaam (about 10 hours) via Mikumi or from Arusha via Dodoma.

After breakfast drive to Ruaha Game Reserve on arrival you will start with extensive game drive. After the amazing game drive you will en route to your accommodation.
Meal Plan: Lunch and Dinner
After breakfast you go for full day game drive in Ruaha national park with packed lunch enjoy your lunch on one of picnic site which your guide will choose. Drive back to Iringa around evening hours.
